It's been a tough couple of months and I thought I'd check in.
First, I am back in Minnesota after spending some time in California to bury my mom. She was a diabetic but not specifically ill, so her death was unexpected, and it's been rough on my dad and siblings. Crappy hotel internet aside, I think I was able to maintain contact with anyone who emailed me. However, if you are waiting on me for any reason just send a note or call and I'll get right back to you.
I continue to serve on the Editorial Freelancers Association social media team, and it looks like a busy few months ahead! I'll be running the next few Freelance Friday chats on Twitter. Members, follow #EFAChat to participate the last Friday of each month (yes, that means the day after tomorrow!) We'll be discussing everything from creativity to Word to managing freelance vacations.
Finally, although I am still spending some of my time direct with authors, I'm pleased to announce I have started providing copy editing services to North Star Editions, particularly their Jolly Fish imprint, and Red Line Editorial. Combined with the impeccable Waterstone Media, I am thrilled to represent Minnesota publishers and contribute to some fantastic literature.
Not long now until summer! Full speed ahead.
