Book your 2018 editing slot before they're gone!
Holy cow, I have been slack about updating my blog, but all for good reasons!
I have been so busy with work the past six months or so, and I am incredibly grateful to the clients who let me share in their publishing journey! I think I mentioned earlier that I worked on 40 books in 2017. This year, I am on track to match or beat that number already. I currently have clients booked into September (!), although I have a few spaces left over the summer. If you will be looking for developmental or copy editing services, contact me NOW to reserve a spot in 2018! Because demand has been so high, I will be raising my rates as of January 1, 2019. Lock in a lower rate by scheduling your slot ASAP.
If you are reading this blog post sometime in the future and need editing services, drop me a line even if you think I might be booked out. There are always last-minute cancellations, and even if I've got a totally full schedule, I can refer you to other reliable, professional editors that suit your genre.
On January 1, I took over as team lead for the Editorial Freelancers Association social media / Twitter team. I have volunteered on the team for a while now, but this new position means a number of new responsibilities. I've sort of jumped into the deep end feet first, and while I love doing it, it's a challenge!
I continue to serve as a moderator for the Ask an Editor Facebook group. Authors, do you have questions about editing or publishing? Join the group, you can ask a bunch of professional editors for their insight, all for free. And of course, you are always welcome to email me.
I'm so grateful to be able to do what I love for a living. Here's to another fantastic year!
